The Widow's Journal: Questions to Guide You through Grief and Life Planning after the Loss of a Partner  is available for purchase globally on Amazon.com and at other online retailers like Createspace e-store. You can also ask retail bookstores to order it through Ingram Catalog or Createspace Direct (for bulk wholesale orders).
  • Hardcopy ISBN 1515193314 (click to access sales page)
The 186-page hardcopy book has plenty of space for you to write your answers and thoughts or even post images on decorated pages* (that you can color-in if you want, as the interior is on white paper). There won't be many used versions available, as the book is designed to be written in and saved as a private keepsake.
  • Kindle/ebook Version (click to access sales page)
* Users of the non-print version will want to obtain a blank notebook to write their answers in.
Royalties from Amazon.com book sales around International Widows Day (June 23rd) are donated to the Loomba Foundation to help widows and their children in need.

Who is the Book For?

I designed the book for anyone whose husband, wife, or romantic partner has died in the last year. It has questions appropriate for a few days after the death up to a year or so later. I imagine more widows than widowers might be interested in the book since I myself am a widow, but I wrote the book in a gender-neutral way applicable to the loss of any romantic partner (even if you weren't married). And unlike many bereavement books, it is not limited to any particular religion, and you can personalize the answers to fit your type and level of spirituality (if any). It is most applicable for people who lose their spouse while they are young or middle-aged, but it is for anyone young at heart who wants to rebuild their life.

* Thank you to the graphic designer, Katie Welch, who designed the interior of the book (we describe it as "finchy"). She worked her magic with nature-oriented illustrations that I purchased from Dreamstime.com and Thinkstockphotos.com by artists Embra and Torky.  Designers at CreateSpace designed the cover, using background art from Torky and bird art from Embra.  My family and friends helped provide expert advice at all stages.
